The Wretched Pimp…
…and the social experiment.
I dislike censorship. I loath things like intimidation, bullying, forced gender roles and narrow minded people. (a random short list from the top of my head, in no specific order and with no particular purpose.)
Even though I myself can be narrow minded sometimes, this place (this land) is great because I am afforded the right to be so, if and when, I chose to be.
I’m wondering. If I pimp out myself would people be willing to donate a little something to help me? This is a social experiment, one I can use to write about in my class as well as here. Plus, you’d be helping me buy camera gear.
Ohhhh. Something ethical too.
Occasionally I see PayPal buttons on flickr accounts and wonder if users ever receive money. I never thought about asking for it to use to save up for gear. I figured, if I was meant to have it, I’d have it. Or find a way to sacrifice something else to have it. This is year 4 the D50 and I have been together. I’d like to replace it and don’t have the means.
I’ll sacrifice a day in my 365 portrait project and dedicate it to you if you donate something to my “Help Pimp My Gear” fundraiser. Which is solely intended to raise money to upgrade my Nikon D50 to something else. Like a D90 (ohh). I don’t have parents buying me gear, or boyfriends, or friends. I also don’t have a job since I do the school thing full time and am pretty dedicated to it.
So, toss something in my hat, include your info if you do (or want) and I’ll post a dedication just for you.
Begin experiment.
*it has already failed. The button will not post, neither here or on flickr. DOOM. But look, drawn on bewbies. If you really want to be active, and are honest about, simply email me. *smashes text boxes with tiny hands.*
**Thanks to my awesome and amazing friend Joshua (who can look out for me across this vast continent, thank you hon!) I think the button of DOOM now works. Give it a push and let me know, go on. . .push it.
